Guns and Barbies

Zane participated in his school's Science Fair this month. He and Kory decided that he should study gun ballistics for his project. Zane is taking Hunter's Ed classes right now, in anticipation for this fall's hunting season. They, along with Zac, enjoyed performing the "experiments" (shooting at the local gun club) and made it through the drudgery of note-booking  typing, etc. In the end, not only did they have fun and learn a lot, but Zane got 3rd place at the science fair!



I did the board design, and thought it turned out pretty well!
On a totally different topic. . . Hanna and Sara had a lot of fun the other night designing Barbie clothes and accessories out of old socks. Such pretty girls, and I love it that they get along so well!

How fun to have both the guns and the barbies! ;) Great job, Zane! And I must say, I'm impressed by the sock dresses. We never got creative enough to make our own barbie clothes!

Another sister-in-law challenge here, to post a favorite family recipe. I don't make this one all the time, but it is a true favorite of everyone here and my mom got rave reviews this Christmas when she took it to a dinner at the Boise ID Temple, where my dad works. We make it for special occasions. Sweet & Sour Chicken The following sauce will cover enough chicken to fill a 9 x 13" baking dish. You may choose whichever chicken type your family enjoys. Growing up, we used bone-in chicken pieces, but these days I like to take boneless skinless chicken breasts and cut them into strips. Sprinkle pieces of chicken with salt and pepper. Spring Concert

Hanna is really into music these days.  In the Filer High School Spring Concert, she... ...sang in the choir... ...played drums in the jazz band... ...played piano in the jazz band... ...and accompanied the choir. Hanna has a beautiful talent, and we always love when she shares it!

What's Been Happening

Zac as an usher at Stake Conference. Hanna accompanied a quartet at our stake Christmas program. She and I also sang in the choir. Zane, Zac and I helped sod 6 houses. It was cold, muddy, and SO fun! Zane drove us home- he's a pretty good driver! Ezra had pack meeting at the Glanbia Cheese Research Lab Joz and Braxton Dille after Literacy Night. Hanna was in the play Fairy Tale High.  She played the part of Goldilocks... ... and a girl in detention. She did awesome! Fun visit from the Halls, where the kids showed off cool moves... You can see Zane in the background being Faith's loyal servant.
