Ezra's Birthday- 5 Years Old

Ezra has been super excited for his birthday to come! I think the day did not disappoint. He got yogurt sundaes and fruit smoothies for breakfast and "chicken legs" (aka fried chicken) for dinner. We bought Star Wars episodes 4 through 6 at D.I. the day before, so he got to watch Return of the Jedi for his birthday movie.

Cake: The Gummy Bear. To the uninitiated: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=astISOttCQ0  It would have looked a lot smoother with fondant, but I really wanted to eat some yummy buttercream!

Ezra got tons of good stuff: sword, crossbow, color magic books, mororcycle, jammies, stuffed dog, money, gum and candy... You've never seen a boy open presents so fast. He'd grab one, say "Thank you!", and then tear it open and move on to the next. It was fun to watch.

While we are on the subject of Ezra, I have taken a job babysitting a little 2-year old and her 6-month old brother. Ezra loves that baby, and is really good with him. It's a special treat to be allowed to feed him!

Ezra is a funny kid who is full of energy and love. He certainly keeps us hopping! Ezra, we love you.
Happy Birthday!

Yeah, I thought that was a random idea for a cake. Then I watched the video and it all made a little more sense. What a funny kid! That is fun that Faith gets to share her birthday with her big 5-year-old cousin!
