Guns and Barbies

Image
Z ane participated in his school's Science Fair this month. He and Kory decided that he should study gun ballistics for his project. Zane is taking Hunter's Ed classes right now, in anticipation for this fall's hunting season. They, along with Zac, enjoyed performing the "experiments" (shooting at the local gun club) and made it through the drudgery of note-booking  typing, etc. In the end, not only did they have fun and learn a lot, but Zane got 3rd place at the science fair! I did the board design, and thought it turned out pretty well! O n a totally different topic. . . Hanna and Sara had a lot of fun the other night designing Barbie clothes and accessories out of old socks. Such pretty girls, and I love it that they get along so well!

Ezra's Birthday- 5 Years Old

Image
E zra has been super excited for his birthday to come! I think the day did not disappoint. He got yogurt sundaes and fruit smoothies for breakfast and "chicken legs" (aka fried chicken) for dinner. We bought Star Wars episodes 4 through 6 at D.I. the day before, so he got to watch Return of the Jedi for his birthday movie. C ake: The Gummy Bear. To the uninitiated:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=astISOttCQ0   It would have looked a lot smoother with fondant, but I really wanted to eat some yummy buttercream!  E zra got tons of good stuff: sword, crossbow, color magic books, mororcycle, jammies, stuffed dog, money, gum and candy... You've never seen a boy open presents so fast. He'd grab one, say "Thank you!", and then tear it open and move on to the next. It was fun to watch. W hile we are on the subject of Ezra, I have taken a job babysitting a little 2-year old and her 6-month old brother. Ezra loves that baby, and is really good with him. ...
