T & A
Today was a big day for Joziah- he got his tonsils and adenoids taken out. I was nervous, not for the procedure but for how painful I know the recovery can be. Joziah, of course, wasn't nervous. I told him he was going to the doctor and he said, "No owie." I've tried to train him that doctors aren't scary, and it looks like I succeeded. . . until now, anyway.
Here he is in his way-too-big hospital jammies, waiting for surgery. They have a nice wagon that you can give your kids rides in while you wait. That was lots of fun!
Here he is right after surgery. The surgery went well. Dr. Nicholson said Joziah probably weighs 10 pounds less now; I bet he says that about all his patients. While Joziah was in the recovery room, and after he was brought out of general anesthesia, they gave him a shot of Demerol. That made him nice and sleepy, and we just cuddled for an hour at the hospital, and for pretty much the rest of the day at home.
He's doing great- drinking lots of water and juice. Still going potty in the toilet, amazingly! I know the next week will probably be challenging, but I am so glad we finally got the procedure done. Now Joziah can look forward to actually breathing out of his nose, and getting some good sound sleep.
