Henry's Lake

During the first week of July we went to Henry's Lake for the Lloyd Family Reunion. It was so much fun! All of the kids absolutely loved spending time with their cousins, playing at the lake, seeing favorite Aunt Lindsey, staying up late, and enjoying snacks from the big snack stash!

The men got to spend hours playing games and fishing. The women enjoyed visiting with each other, going on a walk, and helping the kids with crafts/games. Sherida and I swam across the inlet, which was so fun! Here are the pictures we took (my battery died fairly early on):













At 4 1/2 pounds, probably the biggest fish Kory's ever caught.  It was delicious, too!




 We're already looking forward to the next reunion in 2014. I'm thinking. . . talent show! Surely we can all come up with something in the next two years, right?

Aahh, I love everyone's pictures! I wish I would have taken some more, but I got too busy doing stuff! It was so fun!

Happy birthday Sara! Yummy b-day cake choice, that looks amazing. She sure was nice to you! The reunion sure was fun, it was nice to get to hang out for a few days with everyone. And to see that you stil have that "spark" with your hero Kory. hehehe.

A talent show sounds good for the next one! Apparently I have a son that likes to perfom, which I didn't know! I'm glad everyone had so much fun! Looks like you all had great birthdays too.

Walker Jesse Lloyd was born on April 23 at 10:41 in the morning. He weighed 8lbs 5oz and was 19.7 inches long. We all completely adore him!!

Christmas Concert

Z ac and Sara participated in their school's Christmas concert last week. Zac is in the 4th grade and wasn't very excited to be in the chorus of the play (he wanted to be in the audience) but he was a good sport. He wore the santa hat, sang, and even played the kazoo when the time came! S ara was beyond excited for the program! She participated with the 3rd grade in a song and light stick show and did well, but her favorite part was singing with the honor choir SunShine Singers. They meet once a week after school, and Sara loves every minute of it! W arning: I took this video with my old digital camera, while holding Joziah on my lap (who occasionally fought me for the camera), and the quality is terrible. Sweet and Sour Chicken

Another sister-in-law challenge here, to post a favorite family recipe. I don't make this one all the time, but it is a true favorite of everyone here and my mom got rave reviews this Christmas when she took it to a dinner at the Boise ID Temple, where my dad works. We make it for special occasions. Sweet & Sour Chicken The following sauce will cover enough chicken to fill a 9 x 13" baking dish. You may choose whichever chicken type your family enjoys. Growing up, we used bone-in chicken pieces, but these days I like to take boneless skinless chicken breasts and cut them into strips. Sprinkle pieces of chicken with salt and pepper. Roll pieces in corn startch and then into beaten egg. Fry till golden brown, using high heat. (my Mom fries in oil, I just spray the fry pan) Put pieces of chicken into baking dish. Sauce: 3/4 cup sugar, half brown and half white 1/4 cup water or chicken stock 1/2 cup vinegar 1 Tablespoon soy sauce 1/4 cup ketchup dash of salt Heat until sugar i...
