We're famous! Okay, probably not, but our picture was in the local newspaper today. Here is the article, for as long as the link works. If you can't view the article, here is the best part:
The caption read, "Heather Lloyd and her children were some of hundreds of the walkers who turned out at Heyburn’s Riverside Park on Saturday for the fundraising CROP walk." (That's Zane's leg you see just beside mine, and I got tons of comments as I sported Joziah in the Moby wrap.)
Participating in the CROP walk, which is an multi-church effort to raise funds to stop hunger, has become a family tradition of ours. Hanna participated with her Primary class in 2008. then the kids and I walked in 2009 and 2010. We enjoy the walk, we donate money we've saved in our coin jar, and the kids really like the free (from donated food) hot dog and chip lunch they serve afterward. I'm hoping to teach the kids that it's good to spend time with people of other faiths, and that it's important to share what we have with others.
