Good Times

Image
Just some miscellaneous spring happenings here... We went down in the canyon to Centennial Park and the big kids enjoyed a hike together. The little boys and I spent some time on the CSI campus.  It's really beautiful there this time of year with the green lawns,  gorgeous rose garden, and reflecting pools ! Sara chose to study Florida this year, and presented her report recently.  She was dressed as Clara Barton , founder of the American Red Cross. School is out for the summer for Kory.  At the graduation ceremony in May he was surprised to be named Instructor of the Year ! I can testify that the award is deserved- he works so hard to help his students succeed! He scored an old tractor in great shape, and has enjoyed using it  to plow our garden and mow the weeds taking over our property. Just one more week until SUMMER VACATION for us all!!

Lloyd Forest

Image
On the west side of our property, behind a row of fragrant lilac bushes, we have a secret forest.    Joziah likes to call it "Lloyd Forest."  Actually, it's just the space between two rows of overgrown trees, but it's kind of magical. Last year when we cut down our massive tree, we rolled eight stumps into the forest. Kory made a fire pit out of an old propane tank, and we plan to bury it in the ground. Although that part isn't finished,  we went ahead and roasted hot dogs out there last Saturday. It felt like we had traveled to a special getaway. We plan to make this a regular affair this summer!

Hanna Leigh is 16!

Hanna's 16th birthday was a wonderful occasion.  It was touching to see how many people love her.  She got birthday attention/gifts from her Young Women leaders, Seminary teacher,  friends, Pep Band mates, and even school teachers! She requested a ukulele, and that's what she got, along with other thoughtful gifts. Her birthday dinner was Lasagna, and her cake was a delicious Lemon-Blueberry! We love Hanna so much and are amazed at her  strength  and many talents.  It it such a blessing to have her part of our family!
