Henry's Lake

Image
D uring the first week of July we went to Henry's Lake for the Lloyd Family Reunion. It was so much fun! All of the kids absolutely loved spending time with their cousins, playing at the lake, seeing favorite Aunt Lindsey, staying up late, and enjoying snacks from the big snack stash! T he men got to spend hours playing games and fishing. The women enjoyed visiting with each other, going on a walk, and helping the kids with crafts/games. Sherida and I swam across the inlet, which was so fun! Here are the pictures we took (my battery died fairly early on): At 4 1/2 pounds, probably the biggest fish Kory's ever caught.  It was delicious, too!   W e're already looking forward to the next reunion in 2014. I'm thinking. . . talent show! Surely we can all come up with something in the next two years, right?

Sweet Sara's Seventh!

H appy Birthday to Sara Grace! Sara picked Oatmeal for her birthday breakfast (I can tell you, that's a first around here) and Frozen Burritos and Corn for her b-day dinner. (Could it get any easier for me?) S ara helped make a Brownie-Ice Cream Torte for her birthday cake, and it was delicious!   W e invited the Lawrences and Grandma/pa Jensen over to help celebrate, and Sara enjoyed sharing her treat and opening presents.  S ara, you are so fun, creative and thoughtful. We're so happy to have you in our family. Only one more year until you can get baptized!

The fun just keeps coming. . . Happy Birthday Kory!!

K ory turned 37! I think he had a pretty decent day. He got to sleep in, play video games with his kids, and watch a couple of movies. I cooked pork chops and potato salad for his dinner (and both turned out well, thank goodness) and we all enjoyed Chocolate Eclair Cake for dessert. Happy Birthday Kory! Y ou might   notice Joziah is hanging around in a lot of these birthday pictures. He absolutely loves birthdays (and is probably thinking they are a regular occurrence.) He goes around the house singing "Happy Birthday to you" in the cutest voice.

Zac's Birthday!

Image
B irthday week is in full swing here at the Lloyd home, and today Zac turned 9! We started out the day with bakery donuts, then Zac baked and designed his birthday cake (he really did most of it!). We went swimming at the city pool, which is always fun. His chosen dinner was Nachos, after which he opened a few gifts. T hen we moved to Grandma and Grandpa Jensen's house to enjoy cake and ice cream (and more presents!) with them and the Lawrences. This was a strategic move based on the fact that our non-air conditioned house was already 81 degrees by 10 this morning. We knew we had made the right choice when we got home tonight and saw that it was 89 in the house- yikes! (I think we were probably always this hot in Rupert, but we didn't have a thermostat so we didn't know just how hot we were. Like when your wound doesn't hurt until you notice it, right? Anyway. . .) Z ac had a goal to finish reading the Book of Mormon before his 9th birthday, and he finis...

Heather's Birthday

I t was a nice day. I received such a sweet collection of cards and homemade gifts from the kids! I invited our local family members over and forced them to play games with me, which was fun. I never could remember how old I was all last year (that means I'm getting OLD right?) but maybe 35 will be more memorable! You can just see my cake here- it was a Lemonade Cake, and I thought it was delicious.  The girls and I modeling our new aprons June made us for my birthday. Pretty cute!

Joziah!!

J oziah turned 2 on June 20th and enjoyed a great day. (Incidentally, for one month our children's ages will be: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. Kind of fun, right?) C ould it have been two whole years since he was this little? N ow he's this big, helping to make his birthday treat (Banana Icebox Dessert)! W e put a Diego figurine on top of Joziah's birthday treat. He LOVES Diego and always wants to "Watch 'Lego!" H e loved opening his presents and did it slowly and methodically. He got some fun toys and treats. Ezra was also kind enough to wrap up a couple of Zac's toys to give to Joziah- hah!  H appy Birthday Jo-Z! We couldn't imagine life without you!
