Joziah James

Image
O n Sunday, June 20th, at 6:44 pm, Joziah James Lloyd made his entrance into the world. 7 pounds .5 oz and 19 3/4 inches long. He had an amazing, quick birth, and he is perfectly healthy. It's rare to hear him cry- he usually just squeaks and grunts when he wants something. Hanna and Sara were hoping for a sister, but they're in love with Joziah just like the rest of us. S o here is our whole collection!

Happy Due Date to Me

I took my pregnancy ticker off the page, because I noticed it said my baby is one day old now, which can't be true since baby is still inside of me. I had decided that if I was still pregnant on my due date we would have strawberry pie, so that's what we did. I made it and it didn't set up properly, so it was more like runny strawberry cobbler, but the taste was great! Okay, baby, you can come out now!

Science Fair

Back in April our homeschool group held a science fair. Hanna, Zane, and Zac participated. It was a lot of work, but I think they all enjoyed their experiments. Hanna learned about how flowers drink water, Zane wondered if a frozen candle burned longer (yes, but just barely), and Zac, who earned second place in his age group, studied where the best place was to ripen a tomato (in the shade, by a long shot. Don't put them in the sun!)

Ezra's Birthday!

Image
Well, this happened back on March 16th, so I'm in reverse order here, but I didn't want to forget Ezra's birthday. He happily anticipated the date for many weeks, talking about "my birthday" and asking to "see candles." When the big day finally came he had a blast. He chose hot dogs for his birthday dinner, and wanted me to make a cake with a fishy on it. Who can believe he's two??

Lava Trip

Image
So it's been two months since my last entry. Oops! On the 22nd of May, our family took our first summer vacation, fit in early since we're expecting our baby any day. Some friends offered the use of their timeshare in Lava Hot Springs, ID, which we happily accepted.Saturday we spent most of the day in Pocatello- shopping, going to the theater (The Lightning Thief), and visiting museums. We all enjoyed the Fort Hall replica. We got rained and snowed on, but we survived! Sunday we spent mostly hanging out in the condo but we enjoyed some walks through town. Monday started out cold and rainy, but we braved it to accomplish an important goal: allow every child (with the exception of Ezra) to catch a fish. We tried the river, but that was taking too long, so we patronized Smith's Trout Haven (stocked ponds.) In no time each of the children had caught a 12 or 13 inch trout. Success! We cooked them for dinner that night, and they were actually pretty good. That evening, the local ...
