Hanna participated in her first piano recital last week! I was unsure of how it would go, since she balks at playing in front of even her dad. She showed extreme courage, though, and pulled it off! Hanna has been taking lessons for 1.5 years and she really enjoys it. For the recital she played two songs: "Promises" and "Once Upon a December" (from Anastasia .) I recorded "Promises" in HD, so the clip is a bit long to show here. She played through that one beautifully. I recorded "December" in a web-ready form, so here it is!

So Ezra has started to completely resist nap time. If i put him in his crib he will pretty much scream for as long as I let him. I figured that since he'll be 2 next week, he is probably old enough to skip his nap. Today was the first day of the no-nap policy, and here's what I found in the living room around 2:30: Oh well, at least he didn't cry!

In February, Zane participated in his first Cub Scout Pinewood Derby! Kory was at least as excited as Zane, since he'd never done one as a child. They put in a lot of effort making the car and Zane enjoyed racing it. Our pack organized the races very informally- the boys just raced their car as many times and they wanted to, as fast as they could get them back to the starting line. Consequently, there wasn't any clear winner, but they each win some kind of award. Zane's car qualified as Most Dramatic, probably because of the gold lightning bolts painted on the sides. Good job Zane!
